Let's Talk and Have Tea For World Mental Health Day

This year WOW Chaplaincy will be providing fundraising packs to our communities to host Talk and Tea Virtual get togethers for World Mental Health Day, October 10 2020. It's a great way to get together with work colleagues, friends and family, and build supportive communities during Covid19.

“Although the COVID-19 crisis is, in the first instance, a physical health crisis, it has the seeds of a major mental health crisis as well, if action is not taken. Good mental health is critical to the functioning of society at the best of times. It must be front and centre of every country’s response to and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The mental health and wellbeing of whole societies have been severely impacted by this crisis and are a priority to be addressed urgently.” United Nations Policy Brief: COVID-19 and the Need for Action on Mental Health, May 2020.

Research shows that talking and maintaining connections is good for our mental health. And that's what Tea and Talk is all about. It's a bit like a book club gathering with tea and cake only talking about mental health and how we must all stay connected even when physically isolating has become the necessary norm.

Further details and fundraising packs will be available shortly.
