KATHIE MELOCCO
Kathie Melocco is a systems reformer, emerging film producer, and moral injury specialist dedicated to ending harm where healing should happen.
With a background in crisis communications, global brand leadership, and chaplaincy, she works at the intersection of human care and institutional change. Through GIDII Advocacy and her upcoming documentary Shattered, Kathie talks to the systems improvements that must happen around our social insurances to encourage healing and recovery.
She trains leaders to build morally healthy organisations, reminding them:
“Leadership is a moral act. Your decisions shape cultures, lives, and legacies.”
In a world of complex systems, she challenges leaders to lead with legacy and livelihood, embedding care into structures that uphold dignity and enable people to thrive. To do that, she says, “You must take back the frame on leadership and redefine it as a courageous, human act.”
A multifaceted professional, she brings deep expertise in psychological safety and, workers' compensation, public health campaigns, and strategic communication, consistently challenging broken systems and their leadership to create meaningful, compassionate change.
During COVID Kathie advocated strongly and with a compelling personal story for Aged Care Workers to be vaccinated at a time when lockdowns isolated entirely our aged vulnerable population. She appeared regularly on the media sharing an emotive and compelling argument.
