SHINE Women Program Launches November 25

WOW is excited to be offering our first SHINE Women in the Barangaroo precinct beginning November 25 - December 2 2019. SHINE is an empowerment program that will be delivered each morning 7.30 - 9.00am as part of our WELL Breakfast initiative.

The SHINE course has been running since 1997 with over 20,000 adolescents and women impacted in more than 30 nations. SHINE is currently facilitated in a variety of settings, including workplaces, schools, community centres, refuges, indigenous communities, rural communities, juvenile detention centres, and correctional facilities. The programs are being utilised across Australia, Europe, South East Asia, South America, Africa, and North America including Canada and the USA. The Shine program has recently been translated into seven languages.

SHINE Women is a solutions focused personal development program that empowers women regardless of their cultural, educational or socio-economic background. The goal is to help individuals on their journey of discovering their personal value, resilience and potential.

This 9 day course is divided into 3 specific segments:

Worth: Discussion and activities centre on the intrinsic value of a human being

Strength: Building resilience through problem solving skills, making healthy choices and managing emotions

Purpose: Encouraging women to discover their potential and pursue their hopes and dream
